Award 21-0-8 Turf Fertilizer with Merit® Insecticide is a professional-grade fertilizer and insect control combination designed to provide season-long turf nutrition while protecting against destructive soil-dwelling insect pests. Featuring 21% nitrogen, 8% soluble potash, and 0.20% imidacloprid, this dual-purpose formulation delivers long-lasting feeding and preventative insect control in a single application. Formulated with 50% polymer-coated sulfur-coated urea nitrogen, Award 21-0-8 provides controlled nutrient release for sustained turf growth, improved color, and enhanced turf vigor. At the same time, Merit® insecticide moves into the root zone where it controls white grubs, billbugs, annual bluegrass weevils, mole crickets, crane flies, black turfgrass ataenius, Asiatic garden beetles, Japanese beetles, and other damaging turf insects. Award 21-0-8 is ideal for professional lawn care programs, golf courses, athletic fields, parks, airports, cemeteries, sod farms, commercial landscapes, and residential turf. Applications made before or during egg hatch provide optimal preventative insect control while delivering season-long fertility benefits.

Not for use in commercial greenhouses or nurseries.

Target Pests

White grubs, Japanese beetle larvae, Northern masked chafer, Southern masked chafer, European chafer, Oriental beetle, Asiatic garden beetle, May beetles, June beetles, Phyllophaga species, annual bluegrass weevil (ABW), billbugs, black turfgrass ataenius, Aphodius species, crane flies, mole crickets, green June beetles, and chinch bugs (suppression). Landscape ornamentals receive control of white grub larvae and related scarab beetles.

Application Notes

For best insect control, apply before or during the egg-laying period of target pests. Optimum grub control is achieved when applications are made prior to egg hatch and followed by sufficient irrigation or rainfall to move the active ingredient into the root zone. Irrigate within 24 hours if rainfall does not occur naturally. Do not apply to waterlogged or saturated soils. Apply at 150–200 lbs per acre (3.5–4.5 lbs per 1,000 sq ft) depending on target pest and site conditions. For mole crickets and chinch bug suppression, use the higher labeled rate.
