Quali-Pro Suprado Insecticide is a professional turf insecticide powered by 10% novaluron, an insect growth regulator that controls immature stages of listed turf insect pests. Suprado features IRAC Group 15 chemistry and is designed as a valuable resistance management tool for annual bluegrass weevil programs, especially where rotation away from traditional chemistries is needed.

Suprado controls listed soil- and thatch-inhabiting insect pests in golf courses, sports and recreational turf, commercial sod farms, and lawns around residential, commercial, and institutional properties. Its activity on immature insect stages makes it especially useful in preventive turf insect programs targeting annual bluegrass weevil larvae, billbug larvae, turf caterpillars, white grubs, chinch bug larvae, and black turfgrass ataenius larvae.

Features & Benefits

Contains 10% novaluron, an insect growth regulator that controls immature stages of listed turf insect pests

IRAC Group 15 chemistry gives turf managers a valuable rotation option for annual bluegrass weevil resistance management programs

Brings a different mode of action to ABW control programs, helping reduce reliance on repeated use of the same insecticide groups

Effective across multiple ABW larval timings, including adult peak migration, early-instar larvae inside the stem, and peak third-instar emergence timing before visible damage typically develops

Labeled for annual bluegrass weevil larvae, billbug larvae, white grubs, chinch bug larvae, black turfgrass ataenius larvae, armyworms, cutworms, and sod webworms

Labeled for golf courses, sports and recreational turf, commercial sod farms, parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and residential and commercial lawns for broad turf-use flexibility

Preventive application timing helps target damaging immature stages before visible turf injury becomes severe

May be used in tank mixtures when all products are registered for the intended use and the most restrictive label directions are followed

Labeled Use Sites

Suprado is labeled for use on golf courses, sports and recreational turf, commercial sod farms, residential lawns, business and office complexes, shopping complexes, multi-family residential complexes, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and lawns on and around residential, commercial, and institutional properties.

Target Pests

Suprado is labeled for control of listed turf insect pests including annual bluegrass weevil larvae, bluegrass billbug larvae, hunting billbug larvae, armyworms, cutworms, sod webworms, white grubs, northern masked chafer, southern masked chafer, Asiatic garden beetle, European chafer, green June beetle, May or June beetles, Japanese beetle, Oriental beetle, chinch bug larvae, southern chinch bug, hairy chinch bug, and black turfgrass ataenius larvae.

Application Notes

Suprado application rates vary by target pest. Annual bluegrass weevil larvae, billbug larvae, white grubs, chinch bug larvae, and black turfgrass ataenius larvae are labeled at 3 to 4 quarts per acre, or 2.2 to 3 fl. oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. Turf caterpillars including armyworms, cutworms, and sod webworms are labeled at 1 to 2 quarts per acre, or 0.7 to 1.5 fl. oz. per 1,000 sq. ft.

For annual bluegrass weevil larvae, applications should be timed to the adult peak migration period, early-instar stage inside the stem, or peak third-instar emergence timing before visible damage typically develops. Suprado may also be used on overlapping growth stages as a curative approach in second-generation populations occurring later in the summer.

Apply Suprado in sufficient water, with a minimum of 2 gallons per 1,000 sq. ft., to provide adequate canopy and thatch penetration. Low-volume applications must be watered in immediately with 0.25 to 0.5 inches of irrigation unless directed otherwise for a specific pest. For annual bluegrass weevil larvae, water applications in immediately with 0.1 inch of irrigation.

Do not apply through any irrigation system. Do not apply more than 4 quarts of Suprado per acre in a single application. Do not make applications at less than 30-day intervals. Do not exceed 9.2 quarts per acre per year. Do not apply when turfgrass areas are waterlogged or the soil is saturated. Always read and follow the product label before use.
