Mole Crickets can thin or discolor turf through root, crown, stem, or leaf feeding. Damage may appear as expanding brown patches, irregular thinning, clipped foliage, loose turf, frass, or increased bird and animal activity.
Identify the Source
Inspect the turf profile and thatch, confirm the insect and life stage, and separate insect injury from drought, disease, fertility, or irrigation problems.
Reduce the Conditions Supporting the Pest
Maintain appropriate mowing, irrigation, fertility, and thatch. Avoid unnecessary insecticide applications where monitoring shows populations below damaging levels.
Choose the Right Control Product
Match preventive or curative products to the pest life stage and application window. Follow label directions for irrigation, mowing, reentry, and resistance management.
Confirm the target pest, use site, application method, and state restrictions on the current product label before use.
