It is labeled for residential and commercial lawns, golf courses, athletic fields, parks, schools, cemeteries, sod farms, institutional sites, and other managed turfgrass areas.

Powered by IRAC Group 28 anthranilic diamide chemistry, Award provides preventive and early-curative control of white grubs along with control of billbugs, European crane fly, annual bluegrass weevil, spittlebugs, and turf caterpillars. The fertilizer component supplies 20% nitrogen and 8% soluble potash, including 10% slowly available urea nitrogen from polymer-coated sulfur-coated urea.

Award 20-0-8 with 0.067% Acelepryn Insecticide is labeled for landscape and recreational turfgrass including home lawns, commercial lawns, industrial facilities, residential properties, business and office complexes, shopping centers, multifamily residential complexes, institutional buildings, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, schools, day-care facilities, golf courses including greens, collars, tees, fairways, and roughs, athletic fields, sod farms, and other landscaped areas. It is also labeled for landscape ornamentals and interior plantscapes according to label directions.

Target Pests

Award controls labeled white grubs including Asiatic garden beetle, black turfgrass ataenius, European chafer, green June beetle, Japanese beetle, May and June beetles, northern masked chafer, oriental beetle, and southern masked chafer. It also controls billbugs, European crane fly, annual bluegrass weevil, two-lined spittlebug, and turf caterpillars including armyworms, cutworms, and sod webworms. Chinch bugs are labeled for suppression rather than control.

Application Notes

Apply with properly calibrated drop-type, rotary-type, or hand-held granular application equipment to achieve uniform coverage. White-grub applications may be made from early April through early September for preventive and early-curative control. Irrigate immediately after application or allow rainfall to move the active ingredient into the soil for optimum grub control. Apply to dry turf unless otherwise directed by the label.

Turf application rates range from 150 to 300 lb per acre, or approximately 3.44 to 6.88 lb per 1,000 sq ft, depending on the target pest. For maximum residual effectiveness or large infestations, the label permits rates up to 500 lb per acre where specified. Do not exceed 750 lb per acre per year in broadcast applications to turf or landscape ornamentals, and wait at least 7 days before retreatment.
