Abamectin 0.15 EC Miticide/Insecticide

Abamectin 0.15 EC is a professional miticide/insecticide for agricultural and commercial ornamental use, providing control of mites and leafminers while suppressing aphids, whiteflies, and thrips. Formulated as an emulsifiable concentrate, Abamectin 0.15 EC contains 0.15 lb of abamectin per gallon and is labeled for greenhouse, shadehouse, and field-grown ornamentals, foliage plants, Christmas trees, and other woody ornamentals.

Abamectin 0.15 EC is the generic version of Avid Miticide/Insecticide, making it a dependable option for ornamental growers, nursery managers, greenhouse operators, and Christmas tree producers. It fits well into resistance-management and IPM programs when rotated with products from different modes of action and combined with cultural practices or beneficial arthropods where appropriate.

Labeled Use Sites

Abamectin 0.15 EC is labeled for use on greenhouse-grown, shadehouse-grown, and field-grown ornamentals, foliage plants, Christmas trees, and other woody ornamentals. The product is intended for agricultural and commercial use on ornamental plants.

Target Pests

Abamectin 0.15 EC controls mites and leafminers, including European red mite, two-spotted spider mite, carmine spider mite, southern red mite, spruce spider mite, cyclamen mite, broad mite, rust mites, bud mites, boxwood leafminer, and Liriomyza leafminers. It also suppresses aphids, thrips, and whiteflies when applications contact young immature stages of these pests.

Application Notes

Apply Abamectin 0.15 EC as a foliar spray using enough water to obtain uniform coverage of foliage. For mite control, apply when mites first appear and repeat as needed to maintain control, but not sooner than 7 days after the previous application. For leafminers, apply and repeat every 7 days or as needed to maintain control.

For suppression of whiteflies, thrips, and aphids, apply when young or immature stages are first seen and repeat once per week for 2 to 3 weeks. Then rotate to other registered insecticides with a different mode of action for at least 2 to 3 weeks before returning to Abamectin 0.15 EC. Spray contact with the pest is required for suppression of aphids, whiteflies, and thrips.
