Labeled Use Sites

Affirm WDG is labeled for turf including golf courses, sod, residential lawns treated professionally, parks, athletic fields, commercial and institutional grounds, and other cool- and warm-season turf sites. Labeled grasses include bluegrass, bentgrass, fescue, ryegrass, bermudagrass, St. Augustinegrass, zoysiagrass, and mixtures of these species. Ornamental uses include greenhouses, lath houses, shade houses, hoop structures, high tunnels, field nurseries, container nurseries, residential and commercial landscapes, Christmas tree production, non-bearing fruit vines, and non-bearing fruit and nut trees. Certain listed crop seedlings and transplants are also labeled under specific protected-production restrictions.

Target Diseases

Affirm WDG controls brown patch and large patch in turf and aids in control of cool-season brown patch, foliar and basal anthracnose, gray snow mold, leaf spot and melting out, pink snow mold, red thread, Rhizoctonia damping-off, Rhizoctonia leaf and sheath blight, Waitea patch or brown ring patch, and zoysia patch. It aids in suppression of gray leaf spot and provides suppression and short-term control of fairy ring according to the turf directions.

Ornamental disease targets include anthracnose, Botrytis blight, Curvularia leaf blight, downy mildew, powdery mildew, Rhizoctonia aerial blight, Alternaria blight, petiole rot caused by Myrothecium, apple scab, Rhizoctonia root and crown rot, and Thielaviopsis black root rot.

Application Notes

For turf brown patch and large patch control, apply 2.4 lb per acre and repeat at 7- to 14-day intervals when conditions favor disease development. For fairy ring suppression and short-term control, use 1 oz per 1,000 sq ft in a minimum of 1 gallon of water and make two to three applications at 7-day intervals with a penetrating wetting agent, followed by approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch of irrigation.

For ornamental foliar programs, apply 0.25 to 0.5 lb per 100 gallons per acre depending on target disease and repeat generally every 7 to 10 days. Root and crown disease programs use 0.25 to 0.5 lb per 100 gallons per acre as a soil drench every 14 to 28 days. Affirm WDG may be applied by ground or labeled chemigation systems, except chemigation of turf and ornamentals is prohibited in California. For resistance management, alternate with effective fungicides having different modes of action.
