Allstar Selective Turf Herbicide

Allstar Selective Herbicide is a professional four-way postemergence turf herbicide combining 2,4-D, quinclorac, triclopyr, and sulfentrazone for broad-spectrum control of grassy weeds, sedges, and difficult broadleaf weeds. Designed for selected cool- and warm-season turfgrasses, Allstar provides an all-in-one solution for crabgrass, clover, spurge, oxalis, wild violet, Virginia buttonweed, dollarweed, yellow nutsedge, and many other labeled weeds in lawns, golf courses, athletic fields, parks, sod farms, and other managed turf areas.

Allstar combines three HRAC Group 4 herbicides with Group 14 sulfentrazone to attack susceptible weeds through complementary modes of action. Quinclorac strengthens annual grassy weed control, triclopyr targets difficult perennial broadleaves, 2,4-D broadens control of common turf weeds, and sulfentrazone adds fast activity on sedges and broadleaf weeds. Visible broadleaf weed symptoms may appear within hours after application.

Labeled Use Sites

Allstar is labeled for selective weed control in residential and nonresidential turfgrass sites including lawns and grounds around residential and commercial establishments, multi-family dwellings, military and institutional properties, parks, airports, roadsides, schools, picnic grounds, athletic fields, houses of worship, cemeteries, golf courses, and sod farms. Do not use on golf course greens, tees, or aprons. Arizona use on sod farms is prohibited.

Target Weeds

Allstar controls or suppresses an extensive range of labeled grassy weeds, sedges, and broadleaf weeds including large crabgrass, smooth crabgrass, giant foxtail, green foxtail, yellow foxtail, barnyardgrass, broadleaf signalgrass, yellow nutsedge, dandelion, white clover, red clover, black medic, dollarweed, ground ivy, oxalis, spotted spurge, wild violet, Virginia buttonweed, chickweed, henbit, plantain, ragweed, pigweed, kochia, lespedeza, bindweed, wild garlic, wild onion, speedwell, purslane, morningglory, poison ivy, poison oak, Canada thistle, and numerous other labeled weeds.

Application Notes

For cool-season turf including Kentucky bluegrass, annual and rough bluegrass, annual and perennial ryegrass, tall fescue, and labeled fine fescues, apply 7 to 8 pt per acre, equivalent to approximately 2.6 to 3.0 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft. For common and hybrid bermudagrass and zoysiagrass, apply 5 to 7 pt per acre or approximately 1.8 to 2.6 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft. Use reduced rates when turf is stressed from heat or drought.

Established creeping bentgrass may be treated at 3 to 5 pt per acre, equivalent to 1.1 to 1.8 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, using the split-application directions on the label. Do not apply to creeping bentgrass greens, tees, or aprons. Apply Allstar to actively growing weeds as a postemergence broadcast or spot treatment. Dense infestations may require a follow-up application after approximately four weeks.

For best results, avoid mowing for two days before and two days after application. Do not irrigate for 12 hours after treatment. If rainfall does not occur within 2 to 7 days, approximately 1/2 inch of irrigation is suggested. Do not exceed 8 pt per acre in a single application, two broadcast applications per year, or 16 pt per acre per year. The minimum retreatment interval is 28 days.
