ALPA-LC SC Systemic Turf & Ornamental Insecticide
ALPA-LC SC Insecticide is a professional dual-action insecticide containing 24.7% clothianidin and 12.3% bifenthrin for long-lasting contact and systemic control of labeled insect pests in turfgrass and landscape ornamentals. Combining two proven modes of action, ALPA-LC SC provides both fast surface activity and systemic protection for difficult turf and ornamental pests including white grubs, annual bluegrass weevil, billbugs, chinch bugs, crane flies, mole crickets, caterpillars, aphids, scale, mealybugs, whiteflies, beetles, and other labeled insects.
ALPA-LC SC combines IRAC Group 4A clothianidin, a systemic neonicotinoid, with IRAC Group 3A bifenthrin, a pyrethroid contact insecticide. This combination allows turf and landscape professionals to target both soil-inhabiting and surface-feeding pests while providing residual activity from a single suspension concentrate formulation. Preventive applications may be made before damaging populations develop, while labeled treatments can also be used against active infestations.

Labeled Use Sites
ALPA-LC SC is labeled for use in landscape ornamentals and ornamental trees, including non-bearing fruit trees, as well as lawns and landscaped areas around residential, institutional, public, commercial, and industrial buildings. Additional labeled sites include business complexes, industrial complexes, airports, playgrounds, schoolyards, parks and recreational areas, athletic fields, cemeteries, and arboretums. The current label specifically states that the product is not for residential use, so applications must follow the professional-use restrictions on the label.
Target Pests
ALPA-LC SC controls or suppresses numerous labeled turf and ornamental pests including white grubs such as Japanese beetle, Oriental beetle, European chafer, green June beetle, masked chafers, Asiatic garden beetle, and May or June beetles; annual bluegrass weevil; billbugs; black turfgrass ataenius; European crane fly; mole crickets; chinch bugs; armyworms; cutworms; sod webworms; grasshoppers; leafhoppers; spittlebugs; pillbugs; sowbugs; aphids; adelgids; caterpillars; mealybugs; whiteflies; Japanese beetles; flea beetles; lace bugs; scale insects; weevils; and other pests listed on the product label.
Application Notes
For turf and landscape use, apply enough spray volume to provide uniform coverage and move the active ingredient into the zone where target insects are present. For subsurface pests such as white grubs, irrigation or rainfall is important to move clothianidin through the thatch and into the root zone. The label directs that irrigation may be used immediately after application where necessary to move the active ingredient into the pest zone.
Do not apply more than 23.3 fl oz of ALPA-LC SC per acre per calendar year, equivalent to the label maximum of 0.4 lb clothianidin and 0.2 lb bifenthrin active ingredient per acre. Do not apply during rain or water treated areas to the point of runoff. Do not apply through irrigation systems. The product is a Restricted Use Pesticide and may only be used by certified applicators or persons under their direct supervision. Observe all pollinator-protection requirements and always read and follow the complete product label.
