Atexzo Insecticide/Miticide

Atexzo Insecticide/Miticide is a professional turf insecticide powered by PLINAZOLIN® technology, Syngenta’s trademark for the active ingredient isocycloseram. As an IRAC Group 30 insecticide/miticide, Atexzo provides a new mode of action for turfgrass insect and mite control, helping manage difficult pests where resistance management and long residual performance are important.

Atexzo works through contact and ingestion activity to control listed turf pests including annual bluegrass weevil adults and larvae, mole cricket adults and nymphs, billbugs, bermudagrass mites, European and common crane flies, turf caterpillars, flea beetles, European earwigs, and suppression of white grubs. It is labeled for turfgrass including golf courses, institutional and commercial turf, sod farms, sports fields, parks, municipal grounds, and cemeteries.

Labeled Use Sites

Atexzo Insecticide/Miticide is labeled for use on turfgrasses grown for aesthetic, recreational, or climatic-modification purposes in and around dwellings, business and office complexes, shopping complexes, multi-family complexes, institutional buildings, airports, cemeteries, interior plantscapes, ornamental gardens, wildlife plantings, parks, playgrounds, schools, day-care facilities, golf courses including tees, roughs, fairways, greens, and collars, athletic fields, other landscaped areas including green roofs, and sod farms.

Target Pests

Atexzo controls listed turfgrass pests including annual bluegrass weevil adults and larvae, billbugs, bermudagrass mites, European and common crane fly larvae, European earwigs, flea beetles, turf caterpillars including armyworms, cutworms, and sod webworms, and mole crickets. It also provides suppression of white grub species including Aphodius species, Asiatic garden beetle, black turfgrass ataenius, European chafer, green June beetle, Japanese beetle, May/June beetles, northern masked chafer, oriental beetle, southern masked chafer, and sugarcane grub.

Application Notes

Apply Atexzo as a broadcast spray application using foliar spray equipment commonly used for turf applications. Atexzo must be diluted with water before application, and spray volume should provide complete coverage of the target plant and pest area. Repeat applications may be made at labeled intervals based on the target pest, pressure, and turf program.

For annual bluegrass weevil, apply when overwintered adults are observed and early instar larvae are hatching and penetrating into turfgrass. For mole crickets, apply at peak egg hatch or to target mole cricket nymphs, and irrigate turf after each application or allow rainfall to move the product into the soil. For bermudagrass mites, begin treatment at turf green-up and continue on a 14 to 21-day interval for optimal control. For turf caterpillars, delay irrigation or mowing for 24 hours after application to ensure optimum control.
