Valagro Axilo Mn is a professional water-soluble chelated manganese micronutrient fertilizer designed to help correct and prevent manganese deficiencies in turf, ornamentals, vegetables, fruit crops, nut crops, field crops, forage grasses, and other labeled crops. Formulated with 13.0% chelated manganese derived from manganese EDTA, Axilo Mn provides highly available manganese in a dry, soluble micro-granule form for foliar and root applications.

Manganese plays an important role in chlorophyll synthesis, enzyme activity, photosynthesis, and nitrogen metabolism. Axilo Mn is compatible with a wide range of fertilizers and pesticides, but the label recommends performing a compatibility jar test before mixing, especially with phosphorus fertilizers.

Valagro Axilo Mn is labeled for use on vegetable crops, tree and vine fruit crops, shrub, berry, and bush crops, nut crops, field row crops, forage and grass crops, golf course greens, general turf, and ornamentals. Labeled crop examples include onions, carrots, peppers, eggplant, zucchini, melons, cucumbers, tomatoes, cole crops, leafy vegetables, apples, cherries, citrus, pears, stone fruit, kiwi, grapes, blueberries, cranberries, raspberries, strawberries, almonds, pecans, pistachios, walnuts, cotton, corn, peanuts, potatoes, rice, soybeans, sorghum, sugar cane, sugar beets, wheat, alfalfa, timothy, fescue, and switchgrass.

Target Deficiency

Axilo Mn is designed for correction and prevention of manganese deficiency. Manganese deficiency commonly appears as interveinal chlorosis, where leaf tissue between veins turns yellow while veins remain greener. Deficient plants may also show reduced growth, poor vigor, and, in severe cases, spotting or tissue damage associated with impaired photosynthesis and nutrient metabolism.

Application Notes

For soil applications, Axilo Mn may be used with starter fertilizers, but mixture compatibility is unpredictable and is at the user’s risk. The label allows soil application through surface application by sprayer followed immediately by cultivation into the soil, mixed into a slurry and impregnated onto granular fertilizer, or other labeled soil-use methods.

For foliar applications the use rate is from 0.25 to 2 lbs per acre. Do not apply to plants bearing mature fruit until it has been determined that the product will not damage or mark the fruit. If applied alone, the label states that a nonionic wetting agent should be added according to the wetting-agent manufacturer’s directions. When applied with chemicals that already contain a wetting agent, additional wetting agent may not be necessary.
