Bifen XTS Insecticide/Termiticide

Bifen XTS is a high-performance oil-based insecticide and termiticide containing 25.1% bifenthrin, equivalent to 2 lb active ingredient per gallon. Its professional IRAC Group 3A synthetic pyrethroid chemistry provides fast contact activity and water-resistant, long-lasting residual control of termites, perimeter pests, lawn and turf insects, ornamental pests, wood-infesting insects, and selected tree borers.

Designed for structural pest management, turf, landscape, and ornamental programs, Bifen XTS may be used for outdoor perimeter treatments, home lawns, ornamental trees and plants, localized wood-infesting insect treatments, and labeled pre- and post-construction subterranean termite applications. Its concentrated emulsifiable formulation mixes readily with water and offers flexible application rates for professional pest-management programs.

Application Notes

For lawn and turf applications, Bifen XTS generally uses 0.07 to 0.15 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft for most labeled turf pests and 0.07 to 0.30 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft for imported fire ants and adult Japanese beetles. Apply in sufficient water for uniform coverage. When using less than 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq ft for subsurface pests such as mole crickets, the label recommends a nonionic or silicone-based surfactant at 0.25% v/v followed by immediate irrigation with at least 0.25 inch of water.

For structural perimeter treatments, use a 0.03% to 0.06% dilution depending on pest pressure and desired residual performance. The label gives approximately 1/6 fl oz per gallon of water for a 0.03% dilution and 1/3 fl oz per gallon for a 0.06% dilution. For subterranean termite treatments, the standard concentration is 0.06%; one quart of Bifen XTS in approximately 99.75 gallons of water produces 100 gallons of finished 0.06% dilution. Termite barrier applications require specific labeled volumes, placement methods, structural inspection, and state-qualified applicators.
