Bifenamite 2SC Miticide
Bifenamite 2SC Miticide is a selective, foliar-applied miticide powered by bifenazate for quick knockdown and residual control of listed mite species on ornamental plants. As a Group 20D acaricide, Bifenamite 2SC provides a valuable resistance-management option for ornamental mite programs and is comparable to Floramite Miticide.
Bifenamite 2SC is labeled for ornamental bulb crops, bedding plants, foliage plants, flowering plants, perennials, shrubs, trees, greenhouse tomatoes, and non-bearing fruit trees that will not bear fruit for at least 12 months. It works most effectively on motile mites and also provides ovicidal activity against Tetranychus spider mites when applied with thorough coverage.
Features & Benefits
✓ Generic/comparable option for Floramite with the same active ingredient, bifenazate
✓ Group 20D acaricide provides a useful mode of action for mite resistance-management programs
✓ Delivers quick knockdown of motile mites with residual control for up to 28 days
✓ Provides ovicidal activity against Tetranychus spider mites to help reduce late hatches
✓ Controls important mite species including two-spotted spider mite, European red mite, citrus red mite, southern red mite, spruce spider mite, Pacific mite, Lewis mite, clover mite, bamboo spider mite, and strawberry mite
✓ Selective activity helps minimize impact on many beneficial insects and predatory mites when used according to label directions
✓ Labeled for broad ornamental use sites including greenhouses, shadehouses, nurseries, landscapes, interiorscapes, Christmas tree plantations, golf courses, parks, athletic fields, and rights-of-way
✓ Can be tank mixed with other registered insecticides when broader-spectrum control is needed and compatibility is confirmed
Labeled Use Sites
Bifenamite 2SC may be applied to ornamental plants including ornamental bulb crops, bedding plants, foliage plants, flowering plants, perennials, shrubs, and trees. It is also labeled for greenhouse tomatoes only and for non-bearing fruit trees that will not bear fruit for at least 12 months. Labeled areas include residences, public areas, commercial and industrial areas, interior and exterior landscaping, shadehouses, greenhouses, nurseries, conifer and Christmas tree plantations, recreational sites including golf courses, parks, athletic fields, and campgrounds, rights-of-way, and other easement uses.
Target Pests
Bifenamite 2SC controls listed mite species including bamboo spider mite, citrus red mite, clover mite, European red mite, Lewis mite, Pacific mite, southern red mite, spruce spider mite, strawberry mite, and two-spotted spider mite. The label notes that Bifenamite 2SC is not effective for control of rust mites, broad mites, or flat mites.
Application Notes
Apply Bifenamite 2SC as soon as mites appear. Use the lower labeled rate when mite pressure is low or for preventive applications, and use the higher labeled rate when mite pressure is severe or when extended residual control is needed. Because Bifenamite 2SC is not systemic, thorough coverage of both upper and lower leaf surfaces is required for effective mite control.
Mix 4 to 8 fl oz of Bifenamite 2SC per 100 gallons of water, or approximately 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water. Apply 1 to 4 quarts of finished spray per 100 square feet, or 100 to 400 gallons per acre, depending on plant size and spray volume needed. Maintain spray mixture pH between 5.5 and 6.5 because product stability can be negatively affected by high pH and high temperature.
