CSI 4-4 Mosquito, Fly & Gnat Control is a professional oil-based fogging concentrate containing 4.6% permethrin and 4.6% piperonyl butoxide. This synergized synthetic pyrethroid is labeled for quick knockdown and control of adult mosquitoes, biting and non-biting midges, black flies, flies, and gnats in residential, recreational, municipal, and other listed outdoor areas.

CSI 4-4 may be applied diluted or undiluted through properly calibrated ULV cold-fogging, thermal-fogging, barrier-misting, ground, or aerial equipment. The low-odor, non-corrosive formulation is designed for professional mosquito-abatement and vector-control programs and may only be applied by authorized governmental officials, appropriately certified applicators, or persons working under their direct supervision.

Labeled Use Sites

CSI 4-4 is labeled for use in areas including athletic fields, campsites, gardens, golf courses, municipalities, overgrown waste areas, parks, playgrounds, recreational areas, residential areas, and woodlands.

Barrier treatments may also be made to labeled harborage areas such as perimeter foliage, abandoned buildings, residential buildings, warehouses, storm drains, and underground drainage pipes. Applications for adult mosquito and biting-fly control are also permitted over listed growing crops before harvest and over range grasses within or adjacent to treated areas.

Application Notes

CSI 4-4 may be applied as a thermal or non-thermal fog, either diluted or undiluted. Approved application methods include ground ULV cold fogging, thermal aerosol fogging, barrier misting, and fixed-wing or rotary-aircraft applications when all label requirements are met.

For ground ULV mosquito control, the label provides application rates equivalent to 0.001 to 0.007 pound each of permethrin and piperonyl butoxide per acre. The product may be diluted with a suitable solvent such as mineral oil, with equipment output adjusted to deliver the labeled active-ingredient rate.

Applications should be made when adult insects are active and weather conditions help keep the spray cloud close to the ground. The label identifies early morning and evening as the most beneficial treatment periods, requires air temperatures above 50°F, and permits application only when ground wind speed is greater than 1 mph and does not exceed 10 mph.

Do not use CSI 4-4 in outdoor residential misting systems or metered systems. Do not exceed label-specified application rates, retreatment intervals, annual application limits, droplet-size requirements, or other use restrictions. Always read and follow the complete product label before use.
