Cutrine-Plus Algaecide/Herbicide
Cutrine-Plus Algaecide/Herbicide is a fast-acting chelated copper product for control of a broad range of algae in lakes, potable water reservoirs, farm ponds, fish ponds, industrial ponds, fish hatcheries, raceways, irrigation conveyance systems, ditches, canals, and laterals. Powered by mixed copper-ethanolamine complexes, Cutrine-Plus helps keep copper available in the water for effective algae control.
Cutrine-Plus controls surface, suspended, and bottom-growing algae including planktonic algae, filamentous algae, and Chara/Nitella. It is also labeled for Hydrilla control when applied according to the label. Treated waters may be used for swimming, fishing, drinking, livestock watering, and irrigating turf, ornamental plants, or crops immediately after treatment.
Features & Benefits
✓ Chelated copper algaecide delivers effective control of planktonic, filamentous, and benthic algae
✓ Contains 9.0% elemental copper from mixed copper-ethanolamine complexes for dependable aquatic performance
✓ Controls a broad range of algae including Chara, Spirogyra, Cladophora, Vaucheria, Ulothrix, Microcystis, and Oscillatoria
✓ Labeled for use in lakes, potable water reservoirs, farm ponds, fish ponds, industrial ponds, fish hatcheries, raceways, ditches, canals, and irrigation conveyance systems
✓ Ethanolamine complex helps prevent copper precipitation with carbonates and bicarbonates in treated water
✓ May be used for Hydrilla control at labeled copper concentrations and application rates
✓ No waiting period for swimming, fishing, drinking, livestock watering, or irrigation of turf, ornamentals, or crops after treatment
Labeled Use Sites
Cutrine-Plus is labeled for use in lakes, potable water reservoirs, farm ponds, fish ponds, industrial ponds, fish hatcheries, raceways, crop irrigation conveyance systems, non-crop irrigation conveyance systems, ditches, canals, and laterals. Some states may require permits for applications to public waters, so check with local authorities before treatment.
Target Algae & Aquatic Weeds
Cutrine-Plus is labeled for control of planktonic suspended algae, filamentous mat-forming algae, and benthic algae such as Chara and Nitella. Specific algae listed on the label include Chara, Spirogyra, Cladophora, Vaucheria, Ulothrix, Microcystis, and Oscillatoria. Cutrine-Plus is also labeled for control of Hydrilla verticillata when applied according to the herbicide application directions.
Application Notes
Apply Cutrine-Plus early in the day under calm, sunny conditions when water temperature is at least 60°F. For best results, treat when algae growth first begins to appear or becomes a nuisance. For algaecide applications, maintain proper copper concentration for a minimum of 3 hours of contact time. Application rates vary based on algae type, water depth, and treatment area.
For heavy infestations, treat only 1/3 to 1/2 of the water body at a time to reduce the risk of fish suffocation from oxygen depletion caused by decaying algae. Dilute the required amount of Cutrine-Plus with enough water to ensure even distribution. Break up floating algae mats before or during application, and spray shoreline areas first to avoid trapping fish. Allow 7 to 10 days to observe treatment effects and 1 to 2 weeks between consecutive treatments.
