Dylox 420 SL Turf and Ornamental Insecticide

Dylox 420 SL Turf and Ornamental Insecticide is a fast-acting soluble liquid insecticide powered by trichlorfon for curative control of listed turf insects above and below the soil surface. Designed for landscape turf, recreational lawns, golf course turf, and landscape ornamentals, Dylox 420 SL is especially useful when damaging grub or turf insect activity is already present and quick knockdown is needed.

Dylox 420 SL controls white grubs, mole crickets, sod webworms, cutworms, armyworms, annual bluegrass weevil larvae, billbug larvae, chinch bugs, cranberry girdler, and other listed pests of turfgrass. As an organophosphate insecticide in IRAC Group 1B, Dylox 420 SL works through contact and ingestion activity and can be a strong curative rescue option when properly watered into the turf and soil profile.

Labeled Use Sites

Dylox 420 SL Turf and Ornamental Insecticide is labeled for applications to landscape turf, recreational lawns and turf, golf course turf, and soil at the bases of landscape flowers, shrubs, and trees. For golf courses, broadcast use is limited to tees and greens, while fairway use is limited to spot treatment. Ornamental plants may be treated only by applying spray to the soil at the base of the plant.

Target Pests

Dylox 420 SL controls listed turfgrass pests including white grubs, including larvae of Asiatic garden beetle, black turfgrass ataenius, European chafer, green June beetle, Japanese beetle, Aphodius species, May or June beetles, Phyllophaga species, northern masked chafer, southern masked chafer, sugarcane grub, Tomarus species, and Oriental beetle. It also controls mole crickets, sod webworms, cutworms, armyworms, webworms, cranberry girdler, annual bluegrass weevil larvae, annual bluegrass weevil adults, billbug larvae, chinch bugs, and narcissus bulb fly according to label directions.

Application Notes

Apply Dylox 420 SL in enough water to provide complete coverage of the soil or turf. For landscape ornamentals and recreational lawns and turf, the label lists 4.6 to 6.9 fl oz per 1,000 square feet for cutworms, armyworms, webworms including sod webworm, and cranberry girdler; 5.2 to 6.9 fl oz per 1,000 square feet for annual bluegrass weevil larvae; and 6.9 fl oz per 1,000 square feet for annual bluegrass weevil adults, billbug larvae, mole crickets, chinch bugs, and white grubs.

To ensure the active ingredient reaches the soil surface, apply with a minimum of 2 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet. Post-application irrigation is required. After application, irrigate the same day with enough water to thoroughly wet the remaining thatch and top layers of soil. If sufficient rainfall occurs after application and before irrigation to wet the thatch and topsoil, additional irrigation is not required. Do not use Dylox 420 SL in hose-end proportioned sprayers.
