Fludioxonil SC Fungicide
Fludioxonil SC is a professional protectant fungicide containing 11.8% fludioxonil for preventive control of important foliar, stem, crown, and root diseases in turfgrass and ornamentals. Its FRAC Group 12 phenylpyrrole chemistry disrupts fungal osmotic regulation and cellular function, providing contact protection against diseases including anthracnose, brown patch, brown ring patch, bentgrass dead spot, gray leaf spot, leaf spot, summer patch, Microdochium patch, and pink and gray snow mold.
A generic alternative to Medallion® SC, Fludioxonil SC is formulated as an easy-to-use suspension concentrate for golf courses, residential and commercial lawns, sod farms, athletic fields, parks, municipal grounds, nurseries, greenhouses, landscapes, and other labeled ornamental production sites. Its unique contact mode of action also makes it a valuable rotational and tank-mix partner in preventive disease-management and snow mold programs.

Labeled Use Sites
Fludioxonil SC is labeled for turfgrass including golf courses, institutional lawns, commercial lawns, residential lawns, sod farms, sports fields, parks, municipal grounds, and cemeteries.
Ornamental uses include interiorscapes, field nursery plantings, container nurseries, forest nurseries, residential and commercial landscapes, greenhouses, lath houses, shade houses, and other labeled enclosed structures. Ornamental uses include foliar applications, root-zone drenches, growing-media treatments, and labeled microjet or drip chemigation applications. Restrictions vary by state and location, so the complete label must be consulted before use.
Target Diseases
Turfgrass Diseases: anthracnose, bentgrass dead spot, brown patch, brown ring patch (Waitea circinata), Rhizoctonia leaf and sheath spot, Fusarium patch, Microdochium patch, gray leaf spot, leaf spot caused by Bipolaris and Drechslera species, summer patch, yellow patch, gray snow mold, and pink snow mold.
Ornamental Foliar Diseases: aerial blight caused by Rhizoctonia species, Alternaria leaf blight, Alternaria leaf spot, Botrytis blight, Cercospora leaf spot, Myrothecium leaf spot and blight, and Septoria leaf spot.
Ornamental Stem, Crown & Root Diseases: Cylindrocladium stem and root rot, Fusarium stem and root rot, Rhizoctonia stem and root rot, southern blight caused by Sclerotium rolfsii, and black root rot caused by Thielaviopsis species.
Fludioxonil SC alone is not labeled to control Pythium or Phytophthora root diseases. For those diseases in ornamentals, the label directs tank mixing with an appropriately labeled metalaxyl product.
Application Notes
Turfgrass rates vary by disease. Brown patch may be treated at 0.75 to 1.0 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft on a 7-day interval or 2.0 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft on a 14-day interval. Brown ring patch, Rhizoctonia leaf and sheath spot, anthracnose, leaf spot, Microdochium patch, Fusarium patch, and gray leaf spot generally use 1.0 to 2.0 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft depending on disease and interval. Bentgrass dead spot uses 1.15 to 2.0 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, while summer patch and yellow patch use up to 2.0 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft. Do not apply more than 6 fl oz of Fludioxonil SC per 1,000 sq ft per year on turfgrass.
For pink and gray snow mold, apply 2.0 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft in late fall before snow cover; do not apply on top of snow. One to two late-fall applications may be used, and the label recommends tank mixing with additional registered snow mold fungicides for best control. Fludioxonil SC should be used preventively, with applications timed before disease development or when conditions favor infection. For foliar turf diseases, allow treated foliage to dry before irrigation.
