Gale Herbicide is a selective, systemic aquatic herbicide designed for long-term management of difficult surface, submersed, and emergent weeds in slow-moving or quiescent waters. Powered by bispyribac-sodium (80%), Gale delivers excellent control of hydrilla (including fluoridone-resistant biotypes), Eurasian watermilfoil, and other troublesome aquatic vegetation with minimal impact on many desirable plants such as cattails, maidencane, and spatterdock.
Formulated as a soluble powder in convenient water-soluble packets (WSP), Gale mixes easily and disperses efficiently for both surface applications to floating/emergent weeds and subsurface applications targeting submersed weeds. Its slow activity and extended exposure profile make it a valuable resistance-management tool and a strong fit for operational programs that require selective, long-residual control.
Gale is the generic equivalent of Tradewind Herbicide.
- Selective aquatic herbicide for surface, submersed, and emergent weed control
- Controls hydrilla, including fluoridone-resistant biotypes
- Excellent activity on Eurasian watermilfoil and other problem aquatic weeds
- Long-lasting residual control in slow-moving or quiescent waters
- Group 2 (ALS inhibitor) chemistry supports resistance-management programs
- High water solubility and WSP convenience for easy mixing and loading
- Can be applied as surface spray or subsurface treatment
- Minimal impact on many desirable aquatic plants when used as directed
- Key weeds controlled: Hydrilla (including fluoridone-resistant biotypes), Eurasian watermilfoil
- Floating & emergent weeds (surface application): Alligatorweed, duckweed, mosquito fern, parrotfeather, water fern (Salvinia spp.), water hyacinth, water lettuce, watermeal, water pennywort
