Imidacloprid 75 WP Systemic Insecticide
Imidacloprid 75 WP is a professional systemic insecticide containing 75% imidacloprid for long-lasting control of labeled insect pests in turfgrass, sod farms, landscape ornamentals, trees, shrubs, interior plantscapes, and other labeled sites. Imidacloprid 75 WP is a generic equivalent to Merit 75 WP and is supplied in convenient pre-measured water-soluble packets that dissolve directly in the spray tank for clean, accurate mixing.
As an IRAC Group 4A neonicotinoid, Imidacloprid 75 WP is absorbed through plant roots and translocated upward into foliage, providing systemic protection against insects feeding on treated plant tissues. Foliar applications also provide locally systemic activity, while soil applications offer residual control of white grubs, billbugs, annual bluegrass weevil, crane flies, aphids, scales, mealybugs, whiteflies, borers, and numerous other labeled pests.

Labeled Use Sites
Imidacloprid 75 WP is labeled for turfgrass including residential home lawns, business and office complexes, shopping complexes, multifamily residential complexes, golf courses, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and sod farms. Ornamental uses include trees, shrubs, evergreens, flowers, foliage plants, groundcovers, residential and commercial landscapes, interior plantscapes, and selected wooded or forested areas. Soil applications may also be made around trees and shrubs in residential, recreational, commercial, industrial, municipal, state, national, and private wooded areas. The product is not labeled for commercial greenhouses, nurseries, grasses grown for seed, or commercial fruit and nut trees.
Target Pests
Imidacloprid 75 WP controls labeled turf pests including northern and southern masked chafers, Asiatic garden beetle, European chafer, green June beetle, May and June beetles, Japanese beetle larvae, Oriental beetle, billbugs, annual bluegrass weevil, black turfgrass ataenius, European crane fly, and mole crickets, with suppression of cutworms and chinch bugs. Ornamental applications control or suppress adelgids, aphids, leaf-feeding beetles, emerald ash borer, lace bugs, leafhoppers, planthoppers, sharpshooters, mealybugs, psyllids, sawfly larvae, whiteflies, leafminers, soft scales, armored scales, pine tip moth larvae, roundheaded borers, root weevil larvae, and other labeled pests.
Application Notes
For turfgrass, apply 5.4 to 8.6 oz per acre, equivalent to approximately 2.5 to 4 level teaspoons per 1,000 sq ft, for labeled white grubs, annual bluegrass weevil, billbugs, European crane fly, and related pests. Chinch bug suppression and mole cricket control use 8.6 oz per acre or approximately 4 level teaspoons per 1,000 sq ft. Preventive applications should be timed before egg hatch whenever possible. If rainfall does not occur within 24 hours after application, irrigate sufficiently to move the active ingredient through the thatch and into the root zone.
For ornamental plants, Imidacloprid 75 WP may be applied by foliar treatment, broadcast application, soil drench, or soil injection depending on the target pest and plant type. Soil-applied systemic movement can take substantially longer in large woody plants, so treatments should be made before anticipated pest pressure whenever possible. Do not apply to waterlogged or saturated soils. Observe all pollinator-protection restrictions and do not apply to blooming plants while bees are foraging.
