Quali-Pro Mefenoxam 2 AQ Fungicide is a professional systemic fungicide containing 22.5% mefenoxam for prevention and early curative control of diseases caused by Pythium, Phytophthora, and selected downy mildew pathogens. It contains the same active ingredient used in Subdue MAXX® and provides a cost-effective generic alternative for turf, greenhouse, nursery, landscape, and ornamental disease-management programs.

Its water-based aqueous formulation delivers rapid root uptake and systemic translocation from the root zone into developing plant tissue. Mefenoxam 2 AQ can provide up to 21 days of turf protection under labeled programs and may be applied by foliar spray, soil drench, soil-surface treatment, pre-potting media incorporation, or approved chemigation systems.

Labeled Use Sites

Mefenoxam 2 AQ is labeled for golf courses, lawns, landscape areas around residential, institutional, public, commercial, and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas, athletic fields, and sod farms. Ornamental uses include greenhouses, lath houses, shade houses, outdoor field and container nurseries, commercial and residential landscapes, interiorscapes, nonbearing fruit and nut trees, conifer nurseries and plantations including Christmas trees, bedding plants, foliage plants, flowers, azaleas, and woody ornamentals.

Target Diseases

Mefenoxam 2 AQ controls Pythium blight, Pythium damping-off, Pythium root rot, Phytophthora root rot, crown rot, collar rot, stem disease, foliar Phytophthora diseases, and selected downy mildews. Turf uses specifically include Pythium blight, Pythium damping-off, yellow tuft or downy mildew in bluegrass, and downy mildew in St. Augustinegrass.

For downy mildew resistance management, foliar applications must be tank mixed with an effective non-Group 4 fungicide labeled for the disease. Other fungicide chemistry is required for diseases outside the oomycete spectrum.

Application Notes

For established turf, apply 0.49 to 0.98 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft in 1 to 5 gallons of water as a preventive treatment. Retreatment intervals range from 10 to 21 days depending on rate and disease pressure; during prolonged favorable conditions, use a 14-day schedule. Newly seeded turf may be treated immediately after seeding at the same rate range, with repeat applications every 7 to 14 days if disease-favorable conditions persist.

Ornamental rates vary substantially by crop and application method. Drench, soil-surface spray, pre-potting media incorporation, foliar spray, and chemigation applications are all labeled. For soil-surface treatments, at least 1/2 inch of irrigation or rainfall within 24 hours is generally required for best root-zone incorporation. Rotate Group 4 chemistry with effective fungicides from different FRAC groups to reduce resistance pressure.
