Objective Herbicide

Objective Herbicide is a professional selective herbicide containing 22.6% oxyfluorfen for preemergence residual and postemergence control of labeled broadleaf weeds and annual grasses. Objective combines soil residual activity with contact postemergence control, making it a versatile foundation herbicide for agricultural, nursery, tree, vine, fallow and non-crop weed-management programs.

As a Group 14 herbicide, Objective provides an important mode of action for controlling a broad spectrum of troublesome weeds. Its extensive label includes uses in tree fruit, nut and vine crops, selected vegetables and field crops, conifer production, selected deciduous trees, grasses grown for seed, fallow land and non-crop areas such as rights-of-way, roadways, industrial sites, storage areas and farmsteads.

Labeled Use Sites

Objective Herbicide has an extensive agricultural and professional-use label covering numerous crop and non-crop situations. Labeled uses include selected tree fruit, nut and vine crops; grapes; citrus; vegetables and specialty crops; conifer seedbeds, transplants and container stock; selected field-grown deciduous trees; grasses grown for seed; fallow beds and fallow land; and other crop-specific applications listed on the label.

Non-crop uses include non-food-producing, non-cultivated agricultural and non-agricultural areas such as highway and utility rights-of-way, roadways, industrial sites, tank farms, storage areas, airports, fencerows, specified levee banks and farmsteads. Always consult the label for crop-, site-, state- and application-specific directions and restrictions.

Target Weeds

Objective controls a broad spectrum of labeled broadleaf weeds and selected annual grasses. Examples include annual bluegrass, barnyardgrass, large crabgrass, goosegrass, giant foxtail, green foxtail, yellow foxtail, pigweed, lambsquarters, common purslane, henbit, groundsel, nightshade, smartweed, shepherdspurse, spurge, morningglory, mustard, knotweed, groundcherry, velvetleaf, Italian ryegrass and many other labeled weeds.

Application Notes

For preemergence control, apply Objective uniformly to a clean, weed-free soil surface according to the rate specified for the labeled crop or site. At least 0.25 inch of irrigation or rainfall is required for activation and should occur within 3 to 4 weeks after application. Soil disturbance following application can reduce residual weed control by disrupting the treated surface layer.

For postemergence control, complete and uniform coverage of weed foliage is essential because Objective is a contact herbicide. Applications are most effective on small seedling weeds. Except where specifically restricted by the label, postemergence applications use an 80% active nonionic surfactant to enhance activity. Objective is phytotoxic to plant foliage, so spray contact or drift onto susceptible desirable vegetation must be avoided. Always follow the crop- and site-specific application directions, rates, intervals and restrictions on the product label.
