Labeled Use Sites

Prodiamine 65WDG is labeled for established turfgrass, lawns, golf courses excluding putting greens, sod nurseries, container and field-grown ornamentals, landscape ornamentals, conifer and hardwood seedling nurseries, established perennial and wildflower plantings, Christmas tree farms, and non-crop areas. Non-crop uses include managed roadsides, railways, transportation and utility rights-of-way, equipment yards, substations, tank farms, pumping stations, parking and storage areas, and ungrazed fence rows.

Target Weeds

Prodiamine 65WDG controls labeled barnyardgrass, annual bluegrass or Poa annua, carpetweed, common chickweed, mouseear chickweed from seed, large crabgrass, smooth crabgrass, crowfootgrass, woolly cupgrass, annual foxtails, goosegrass, henbit, itchgrass, johnsongrass from seed, junglerice, knotweed, kochia, common lambsquarters, lovegrass, Texas panicum, fall panicum, browntop panicum, pigweed, common purslane, Florida pusley, broadleaf signalgrass, Persian speedwell, sprangletop, prostrate spurge, witchgrass, and yellow woodsorrel from seed. Rescuegrass is labeled for suppression only.

Application Notes

Apply Prodiamine 65WDG before target weeds germinate. The product does not control weeds that have already emerged. For optimum performance, activate the herbicide with at least 0.5 inch of rainfall or irrigation, or shallow incorporation 1 to 2 inches deep, before weed germination and within 14 days after application.

Turf rates vary by species and desired length of control. Annual maximums range from approximately 1.0 to 2.3 lb per acre depending on turfgrass species. Ornamental and vegetation-management programs generally use 1.0 to 2.3 lb per acre, or approximately 0.37 to 0.83 oz per 1,000 sq ft. Sequential applications are permitted as long as the annual maximum for the specific turf species or use site is not exceeded.
