Pyrus TR Total Release Insecticide

Pyrus TR Total Release Insecticide is a professional greenhouse aerosol containing 4% pyrethrins plus 16% piperonyl butoxide for broad-spectrum control of labeled greenhouse insect pests. Pyrus TR contains the same active ingredients used in Pyrethrum® TR Total Release Insecticide and provides fast-acting Group 3A pyrethrin chemistry in a convenient ready-to-use total release formulation.

Designed specifically for commercial greenhouse production, Pyrus TR controls pests including aphids, fungus gnats, mites, spider mites, thrips, whiteflies, mealybugs, leafhoppers, beetles, moths, caterpillars, crickets, silverfish, and other labeled insects. Fine aerosol particles move throughout the plant canopy with normal greenhouse air movement, helping provide coverage across both upper and lower foliage without conventional spray mixing or application equipment.

Labeled Use Sites

Pyrus TR is labeled for commercial greenhouse production of ornamental crops and growing crops. Ornamental uses include bedding plants, containerized plants, cut flowers, evergreens, flowering plants, foliage plants, groundcovers, ornamental trees and shrubs, and other labeled greenhouse ornamentals. Growing-crop uses include selected root and tuber vegetables, bulb vegetables, leafy vegetables, Brassica crops, legumes, fruiting vegetables, cucurbits, herbs, and spices according to the label.

Target Pests

Pyrus TR controls labeled ants excluding carpenter, fire, harvester, and Pharaoh ants; aphids; Colorado potato beetles; confused flour beetles; cucumber beetles; dried fruit beetles; flea beetles; red flour beetles; watermelon beetles; cabbage worms; cadelles; crickets; fungus gnats; hornworms; Indianmeal moths; leafhoppers; mealybugs; Mediterranean flour moths; mites; moths; rose aphids; rose chafers; rose slugs; scale; silverfish; spider mites; spiders excluding black widow and brown recluse; Trogoderma; thrips; and whiteflies.

Application Notes

Apply Pyrus TR in commercial greenhouses with foliage dry and greenhouse temperatures between 60°F and 80°F. Before activation, shut off exhaust fans, close windows, doors, and ventilators, and keep the container at least 10 horizontal feet from ignition sources. Prepare a 3-foot plant-free zone and elevate the container above the plant canopy so release is unobstructed.

Use one 2 oz container per 3,000 sq ft or approximately 50,000 cu ft. For difficult infestations, the label permits two containers per 3,000 sq ft. Initial programs may use two applications one week apart, followed by applications at two-week intervals while immature pests remain or adult egg-laying is expected. Depending on infestation severity, applications may be made 1 to 3 times per week where permitted. Do not make more than two consecutive applications before rotating to an insecticide with a different mode of action.
