Its highly active IRAC Group 3A pyrethroid chemistry controls ants, mosquitoes, cockroaches, spiders, scorpions, ticks, fleas, adult bed bugs, turf insects, ornamental pests, and many other labeled species.

Scion's proprietary UVX Technology combines free active ingredient for rapid pest activity with multiple-size microcapsules that provide controlled release over time. Labeled Use Sites

Scion is labeled for use in, on, and around residential, institutional, public, commercial, agricultural, and industrial buildings and structures, including houses, apartment buildings, stores, factories, warehouses, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, restaurants, hotels, correctional facilities, laboratories, non-commercial greenhouses, livestock and poultry housing, pet kennels, food-handling establishments, food granaries, grain mills, transportation equipment, garages, patios, porches, and other labeled structural sites.

Outdoor uses include structural perimeters, foundations, lawns, turfgrass, residential and non-residential landscapes, ornamental trees and shrubs, flowers, evergreens, foliage plants, groundcovers, parks, recreational areas, athletic fields, and mosquito-harborage areas. Food and food-serving areas are limited to the spot and crack-and-crevice applications specified on the label. Scion is restricted for use in New York State and additional New York setback restrictions apply near coastal marshes and streams.

Grubs are labeled for suppression.

Application Notes

Structural and perimeter rates vary by pest and treatment objective. Hand-applied structural treatments generally range from 0.16 to 0.65 fl oz of Scion per gallon of water. Perimeter barrier programs use approximately 0.16 to 0.65 fl oz of concentrate in 1 to 5 gallons of water over 800 to 1,600 sq ft, depending on pest pressure and desired service interval.

Turf applications generally range from 4.4 to 8.8 fl oz per acre depending on the target pest. Surface-feeding pests are treated in 2 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq ft and normally do not require an adjuvant. For thatch-inhabiting pests such as chinch bugs and billbugs, a nonionic wetting agent or penetrant is recommended. For subsurface targets such as mole crickets and grub suppression, a nonionic wetting agent or penetrant is strongly recommended and treatments should be watered in immediately with approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water. Ornamental treatments generally use 1.3 to 4.4 fl oz per 100 gallons of water depending on the pest.

Recommended Surfactant: No adjuvant is normally required for surface-feeding turf insects. For thatch-inhabiting pests, ProSurf 90 or another label-compatible nonionic wetting agent may be used.
