Subdue GR Fungicide is a professional systemic granular fungicide containing 1.0% mefenoxam for control of Pythium, Phytophthora, downy mildew, damping-off, and other specifically labeled diseases in turf, ornamentals, conifers, nonbearing citrus, and nonbearing fruit and nut trees. Its granular formulation is designed for soil-surface application and incorporation into growing media, delivering the active ingredient directly into the root zone.

As a FRAC Group 4 phenylamide fungicide, Subdue GR is absorbed through plant roots and provides systemic disease protection. It is especially useful in greenhouse, nursery, landscape, Christmas tree, and professional turf programs where root-zone disease management is critical.

Labeled Use Sites

Subdue GR is labeled for ornamentals grown in greenhouses, lath houses, shade houses, outdoor field and container nurseries, interiorscapes, commercial and residential landscapes, and other labeled ornamental production areas. It is also labeled for turfgrass, conifers grown in nurseries and plantations including Christmas trees, nonbearing citrus in nurseries and landscape plantings, and nonbearing deciduous fruit and nut trees grown in nurseries.

Target Diseases

Subdue GR controls labeled diseases caused by Pythium and Phytophthora species, including damping-off, root rot, stem disease, crown rot, collar rot, and citrus foot rot. On turf, labeled diseases include Pythium blight, Pythium damping-off, yellow tuft, and downy mildew. On conifers, Subdue GR controls Phytophthora root rot.

Application Notes

Subdue GR may be applied as a soil-surface treatment or incorporated into growing media prior to planting. After soil-surface applications, irrigate with enough water to thoroughly wet the root zone. For growing-media incorporation, mix granules uniformly into dry, lump-free media before planting and irrigate thoroughly after transplanting.

Turf applications use 12.5 to 25 oz per 1,000 sq ft. Established turf should be treated preventively at 10- to 14-day intervals during periods favorable for disease development. Newly seeded turf should be treated immediately after seeding and irrigated with 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water; repeat at 7- to 14-day intervals if disease-favorable conditions persist.

For resistance management, do not make more than two sequential Subdue GR applications before rotating to a non-Group 4 fungicide for soilborne diseases. For foliar disease control, alternate every other application with a non-Group 4 fungicide.
