Surmise Pro Non-Selective Herbicide
Surmise Pro is a professional non-selective postemergence herbicide containing 24.5% glufosinate-ammonium for control of emerged annual and perennial broadleaf weeds, grasses, sedges, and certain woody species. Its Group 10 glutamine synthetase-inhibiting mode of action rapidly disrupts plant metabolism, producing visible necrosis of leaves and young shoots generally within 2 to 4 days under good growing conditions.
Designed for professional vegetation management, Surmise Pro is a foliar-active herbicide with little to no soil-residual activity, making it especially useful for trimming and edging, spot treatments, directed sprays, landscape maintenance, site preparation, dormant bermudagrass programs, greenhouse and shadehouse weed control, industrial sites, rights-of-way, and other labeled non-crop areas. Plants may be safely planted into treated areas after the spray has dried.
Features & Benefits
✓ Contains 24.5% glufosinate-ammonium with 2.34 lb active ingredient per gallon
✓ Group 10 glutamine synthetase inhibitor for non-selective postemergence weed control
✓ Controls a broad spectrum of emerged annual and perennial grasses, broadleaf weeds, sedges, and certain woody species
✓ Visible effects typically develop within 2 to 4 days under favorable growing conditions
✓ Little to no soil-residual activity allows planting after treated foliage has dried
✓ Reduced translocation helps create defined treatment boundaries around golf turf, sand traps, athletic fields, and landscape beds
✓ No surfactant is required; spray-grade ammonium sulfate may improve control where hard water is a concern
Labeled Use Sites
Surmise Pro is labeled for trimming and edging around individual trees and shrubs, buildings and foundations, landscape beds, sign and light posts, fences, driveways, sidewalks, paths, parking areas, golf course cart paths, and around sand traps. Recreational and public-area uses include airfields, airports, alleys, lanes, trails, access roads, ornamental gardens, campgrounds, educational facilities, highways, roadsides, medians, guardrails, rights-of-way, parking lots, recreation areas, resorts, schools, sports areas, storage areas, tennis courts, and walkways.
Additional labeled programs include winter annual weed control in fully dormant common and hybrid bermudagrass, ornamental and Christmas tree site preparation, directed applications around established ornamentals and containers, greenhouses and shadehouses containing non-edible crops, wildlife food plot site preparation where registered, railroad and industrial vegetation management, farmsteads, building foundations, shelter belts, and fence rows. Avoid contact with desirable green tissue or green, thin, uncalloused bark.

Application Notes
For spot or directed applications, use 1 to 2 fl oz of Surmise Pro per gallon of water depending on weed species, size, and growth stage. Lower-rate weeds under 6 inches generally use 1 fl oz per gallon, while larger weeds may require 1.5 fl oz per gallon. More difficult weeds generally use 1.5 fl oz per gallon when small and 2 fl oz per gallon when 6 inches or larger. Spray foliage thoroughly to wet but not beyond runoff.
Broadcast applications range from 32 to 80 fl oz per acre depending on weed species, size, and growth stage, using at least 40 gallons of water per acre and a minimum spray pressure of 30 psi. Surmise Pro can become rainfast in as little as 30 minutes, but rainfast time may extend to 4 hours depending on environmental conditions, target weed, and application rate. No surfactant is required. Where hard water is a concern, spray-grade ammonium sulfate may improve control. Do not apply by air or through irrigation systems, do not allow grazing of treated vegetation, and allow at least 5 days between repeat applications.
