Trefinti Nematicide/Fungicide

Trefinti Nematicide/Fungicide is a professional systemic nematicide and fungicide powered by TYMIRIUM technology, Syngenta’s trademark for the active ingredient cyclobutrifluram. With both nematicidal and fungicidal activity, Trefinti helps manage listed plant-parasitic nematodes and damaging diseases in turfgrass, ornamental plants, and non-bearing juvenile fruit, nut, vine, and berry plants.

Trefinti provides systemic control by being absorbed through plant roots and foliage, then translocated upward in the plant when applied to the soil. It is labeled for turfgrass including golf courses, sod farms, athletic fields, residential and commercial lawns, parks, and municipal grounds, plus ornamental production, landscapes, interiorscapes, Christmas tree farms, nurseries, greenhouses, shade houses, and other labeled production sites.

Features & Benefits

Dual-purpose nematicide/fungicide provides nematode control and disease control in one professional formulation

Powered by TYMIRIUM technology with cyclobutrifluram, a Group N-3 nematicide and Group 7 fungicide

Controls key turf-parasitic nematodes including sting, lance, root-knot, ring, spiral, dagger, sheath, and Anguina stem gall nematodes

Protects turf against important soilborne and root-related diseases including spring dead spot, mini-ring, take-all root rot, and fairy ring

Systemic activity moves upward from the roots after soil application for root-zone protection

Flexible turf application options include broadcast treatments and curative spot treatments on golf course greens, tees, and fairways

May be used in ornamental production as a container drench, broadcast soil application, banded treatment, or labeled chemigation application

Fits resistance-management programs when rotated with nematicides and fungicides from different mode-of-action groups

Labeled Use Sites

Trefinti is labeled for use on turfgrass grown on golf courses, sod farms, athletic fields, residential lawns, commercial lawns, parks, recreational areas, municipal grounds, and turf areas around residential, institutional, public, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Trefinti is also labeled for ornamental plants produced in greenhouses and nurseries, including shade houses, lath houses, outdoor growing structures, evergreen and deciduous tree nurseries, forest nurseries, Christmas tree farms, residential and commercial landscapes, parks, and interior plantscapes. Labeled ornamental crop groups include bulb, corm, and tuber crops, flowering plants, foliage plants, ground covers, ornamental grasses, ornamental trees, palms, perennials, pot and bedding plants, shrubs, succulents, evergreens including conifers, and non-bearing juvenile fruit and nut trees, vines, and berries.

Target Nematodes & Diseases

For turfgrass, Trefinti controls listed turf-parasitic nematodes including sting nematodes, lance nematodes, root-knot nematodes, ring nematodes, spiral nematodes, dagger nematodes, sheath nematodes, and Anguina stem gall nematodes. Turf disease uses include spring dead spot, mini-ring or leaf and sheath spot, take-all root rot, and fairy ring.

For ornamental plants and non-bearing juvenile fruit, nut, vine, and berry plants, Trefinti controls root-knot nematode and suppresses foliar nematode. Container and soil drench applications are labeled for Fusarium species, Alternaria species, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Cercospora species, powdery mildew, Corynespora species, rose black spot, Botrytis foliar suppression, and Septoria species where listed on the label.

Application Notes

Apply Trefinti preventively or early when nematode or disease pressure is present. Trefinti must be diluted with water before application. For turf broadcast nematode control, apply 3.8 to 7.6 fl oz per acre, or 0.087 to 0.174 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, on a 14- to 28-day schedule. Apply in 1 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq ft and irrigate with 0.1 to 0.5 inches of water within 24 hours to move the product into the turf root zone.

For curative spot treatments on golf course greens, tees, and fairways, apply 3.8 fl oz per 10,000 sq ft up to 4 times per year, or 7.6 fl oz per 10,000 sq ft up to 2 times per year, at labeled intervals. For turf disease control, apply according to the target disease directions, watering in immediately where directed. For fairy ring, use 7.6 fl oz per acre and include the recommended rate of a wetting agent in the final spray.

Recommended Rotation Partner: Divanem Nematicide for nematode resistance management where labeled. The Trefinti turf information sheet specifically recommends a rotation program with Divanem, particularly when nematode thresholds are high or significant damage has already occurred.
Recommended Tank-Mix Partner: Briskway, Heritage Action, Heritage, or Heritage TL may be used where labeled to help reduce fungal infections following nematode feeding. The Trefinti label lists these as referenced products for turf nematode programs.
Recommended Surfactant: For turf nematode applications, a soil wetting agent such as Flash Wett may be used. The label states that tank mixing Trefinti with a soil wetting agent at prescribed rates may improve infiltration into the root zone and improve performance. For fairy ring applications, the label directs adding the recommended rate of a wetting agent to the final spray.
