Velocity PM Poa Management Herbicide is a professional selective postemergence herbicide containing 37.57% bispyribac-sodium for targeted control of annual bluegrass (Poa annua), roughstalk bluegrass (Poa trivialis), and selected broadleaf and sedge weeds in established turf. Its HRAC Group 2 ALS-inhibiting chemistry allows turf managers to gradually transition Poa-contaminated stands back toward cleaner creeping bentgrass, perennial ryegrass, tall fescue, and labeled dormant Bermudagrass.

Velocity PM gives golf course superintendents and professional turf managers flexibility to choose between faster Poa removal or slower multi-application transition programs based on infestation level, turf density, and tolerance for temporary chlorosis. In addition to Poa control, Velocity PM suppresses Poa annua seedhead production and can substantially suppress the development and severity of dollar spot when used as part of a labeled weed-control program.

Labeled Use Sites

Velocity PM is labeled for creeping bentgrass, permanently established perennial ryegrass, tall fescue, and dormant common or hybrid Bermudagrass under specified use programs. Labeled sites include golf course fairways and tees, sod farms, athletic fields, commercial turf, and residential turf. Dormant Bermudagrass programs on the current label are limited to golf course fairways and tees and sod farms. Do not apply Velocity PM to golf course greens or to creeping bentgrass mowed below 3/8 inch.

Target Weeds

Velocity PM controls annual bluegrass (Poa annua), roughstalk bluegrass (Poa trivialis), common chickweed, sticky chickweed, large hop clover, white clover, dandelion, henbit, lawn burweed, parsley-piert, broadleaf plantain, buckhorn plantain, swinecress, yellow nutsedge, and yellow woodsorrel. Velocity PM also suppresses Poa annua seedhead production. Dollar spot is not a weed target, but the label separately supports suppression of dollar spot development and severity when Velocity PM is applied for weed control.

Application Notes

Velocity PM weed-control rates generally range from 0.38 to 2.25 fl oz per acre per application, depending on turf species, Poa pressure, desired transition speed, temperature, and program. Multiple applications are normally required for maximum Poa control. Rapid conversion programs use higher rates and shorter intervals, while slow-conversion programs use lower rates repeated over a longer period so desirable turf can gradually fill areas previously occupied by Poa.

Apply in a minimum of 20 gallons of spray solution per acre for thorough and uniform coverage. Maximum weed control is generally obtained when turf and weeds are actively growing and daytime temperatures are in the labeled range. Do not mow or irrigate within four hours of application where specified by the use program, and do not apply if rain is expected within four hours. Do not tank mix Velocity PM with wetting agents, spreader-stickers, surfactants, or other adjuvants in the labeled Poa-management programs.
